About Us

Welcome to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church

Hello!  I’m Father David Bridges and I want to welcome you to St. Andrew’s.  You may be wondering what goes on at our church.  Who are we?

  • We are a vibrant community of faith in northeastern Oklahoma on beautiful Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees.
  • We value and defend the rights of every person.
  • We read, study and explore the Holy Scriptures as we listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • We practice liturgical worship as a part of our tradition.
  • We are part of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
  • We gather at the Lord’s Table every Sunday and all baptized persons are welcome to share in the Holy Eucharist.

We look forward to seeing you at St. Andrew’s!  Come experience the New Jesus Movement in the company of friends.  You are welcome here.

Blessings and Peace,
The Rev. Dr. David L. Bridges, Priest

St. Andrew’s History

The Chapel of the Seven Deacons held the first Episcopal Church service in Grove on March 10, 1961.  Our faithful congregation of 5 to 15 members met at various locations, serving as a parochial mission of All Saints Episcopal Church of Miami, Oklahoma.  Then in 1974, our church became a Diocesan mission and its name was changed to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.  Our permanent church home was dedicated and consecrated on June 6, 1981.  Beautiful new additions to the facility were dedicated on June 19, 2010.

St. Andrew’s Today

Today, St. Andrew's Church hosts Sunday and Wednesday services, as well as Adult and Youth Christian Education.  We have become a regional center of worship, education and Christian fellowship.

Our outreach ministries and programs include ministering to shut-ins and those in nursing homes, gathering food and basic necessities for the needy, and offering support to battered and abused women.  Several Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon groups have a permanent meeting place at St. Andrew's.

Through these ministries and our involvement with national and diocesan outreach ministries, St. Andrew's is pursuing what Jesus called us to do – seeking justice and mercy for those in need of his love.
